"I found Rob's website through www.ineedfitness.co.uk and we usually train twice a week, a weekday evening and once at the weekend. My schedule tends to change quite a lot and Rob has been great about fitting extra days in here and there when I have a couple of days between contracts.
We usually train in the local park using everything from the ground to the climbing frames. Sometimes we take a run through the forest or around the lake, which makes a nice break from the usual routine and is a lot more enjoyable then running on a treadmill in my local gym.
Rob puts a lot of different activities into the training. Circuits, kickboxing, running, pull-ups, gym ball, weights and exercises on park equipment (such as benches, ropes and climbing frames) are all part of the fun.
I am training to get fit for my wedding later this year and because I generally wanted to raise the standard of my health. After seeing such a big improvement in my heath and mobility through Rob's training, I have started searching for a personal trainer in Boston, USA so I can take it to the next level when I emigrate later this year.
Rob is a great trainer, he knows how to push you further without being hostile and is always ready to talk about the science behind the various exercises. Being an asthma sufferer, I can tell you that getting regular training helps me keep my breathing under control, which is a good-enough reason in itself.
One of the things that has been a real benchmark for me is 'pull-ups/chin-ups'. I have not been able to do one pull-up ever in my life... ever, I literally could not move myself an inch. Rob has helped me train my muscles over the last 3 months and I can now do 6 pull ups and hope to take this further in the future.
The other thing that has made a big difference in my life is jogging. I used to find when I ran that my muscles would just cease up and I would grind to a halt. Having worked on this quite a bit with Rob, I have started to develop a good running style and can jog for miles with no issues after a good warm up. This is helpful when I’m contracting in London as I am always up and down stairs and running for trains."
